    On Saturday, May 11, 2024, a comprehensive search was conducted at the High Desert Detention Center (HDDC), located at 9438 Commerce Way, Adelanto. The operation involved numerous personnel from HDDC, narcotics detection canines from San Bernardino County Probation, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Narcotics Division, and Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The operation resulted in the successful recovery of weapons and dangerous contraband from within the jail facility.

  • Victorville man arrested for murder following motel shooting

    On May 10, 2024, at approximately 1:26 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station were dispatched to a reported shooting at the Motel 6 on Stoddard Wells Road. Upon arrival, they discovered that Jontae Marsh, a 19-year-old resident of Victorville, had been shot. Marsh was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

  • Hesperia man arrested for alleged sex crimes following undercover operation

    On May 9, 2024, a resident of Hesperia, Thomas Patrick Hannett, was arrested on charges of sex crimes involving a minor. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Specialized Investigations Division, Crimes Against Children Detail, and the Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) had conducted an undercover chat operation on April 18, 2024.

    On May 9, 2024, at approximately 3:10 p.m., deputies from Victorville responded to a reported shooting at a residence located in the 16300 block of Orick Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Stephanie Santacruz, a 37-year-old female resident of Victorville, suffering from a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
